Help needed to find missing 84-year-old woman

JULY 18 UPDATE: Sadly, Mary Northcraft was found deceased at about 9:20 a.m. in her car in the Applebee's parking lot at 12461 S. U.S. 71 Highway in Grandview, Mo. Her cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner. Thanks to all of you who helped look for her.


We're very worried about 84-year-old Mary Northcraft, who has been missing since about noon on Monday, July 11. Ms. Northcraft has dementia, and her family is very concerned. We have found no trace of her since she went missing.

Ms. Northcraft is white, 5 feet tall and weighs about 110 pounds. She has gray hair, blue eyes and glasses. She may be driving a silver 2001 Chevy Malibu with Missouri license plate PE9 A9V. She was last seen near her home in the 11400 block of Oak in south Kansas City.

Police seek man who left hospital with serious injuries


Police are looking for 27-year-old Ian P. Mitcham. He was last seen at Truman Medical Center at about 9 a.m. today. He was at the hospital's emergency room, and nurses saw that he had serious assault injuries. He apparently became afraid and left before being treated. He suffers from other medical problems and has been off of his medication and out of contact with his family. They are concerned about him. Mr. Mitcham is 6 feet tall and weighs about 195 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and may be wearing glasses. If you've seen him, please call the Missing Persons Section at 816-234-5136.

18-year-old missing from residential care center

UPDATE, 1:22 p.m.: Rhiannon Carter has been located in Independence, Mo. She is safe and in good condition. Thanks for your assistance.


Rhiannon Carter, 18, has been missing since Saturday evening from Butterfly Haven Residential Care at 11500 Campbell. Although she is 18, Rhiannon has the mental capacity of a 12-year-old and also has a mood disorder. Her family is concerned because Rhiannon has not had her medication and is "very naive." Police seek missing woman with Alzheimer's

UPDATE, 1:20 p.m.: Police have located Bertha Washington in Kansas City, Mo., and she appears to be in good health. Thanks for your help.


Kansas City Police are looking for 77-year-old Bertha L. Washington, who was last seen at 6:30 p.m. yesterday, Sept. 21. She left the 4100 block of Agnes on foot and hasn't been seen or heard from since. Ms. Washington suffers from Alzheimer's disease and may appeared confused. Her family is worried about her. She is a black female who is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue shirt, black pants and black shoes. Police seek woman missing from Northland since Sept. 10

Kansas City Police are looking for 53-year-old Cathleen M. Butcher. She hasn't been seen since about 1 p.m. last Friday, Sept. 10. She was last seen leaving the 4200 block of North Brighton. She suffers from depression and has suicidal tendencies, and her family is worried about her. Cathleen is white, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Kansas City Police are trying to find 75-year-old Virginia L. Carter. She was last seen in the Northland at about 9:30 a.m. yesterday, Sept. 8. She was headed to Clinton, Mo., but never arrived. She was driving a green 2001 Toyota Camry with Missouri license plates AB0-N5N. Virginia is a white female with gray-brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds. She is in the early stages of Alzheimer's. Police seek man last seen Sept. 1


Kansas City Police are looking for 50-year-old Keith W. Shaw, who was last seen a week ago today. At about 8 a.m. Sept. 1, Mr. Shaw left the 4200 block of E. 67th Terrace to go to work near 20th and Main. He has not been seen or heard from since. He was last known to be wearing a black T-shirt, black pants and black shoes. Mr. Shaw is black, 5 feet 3 inches tall, and weighs about 120 pounds. He has black hair and hazel eyes. Police seek man missing since August 26

Kansas City Police are looking for 58-year-old James E. Mitchell, who has not been seen or heard from for a week. Mr. Mitchell was last seen the morning of August 26 at 10545 Washington St. He suffers from several medical issues, and his family is concerned for his well-being. Police looking for two missing men

Two men have been reported missing to Kansas City Police in the last two days, and we hope you can help us find them. Their cases are not related.

Joshua Saluto

Joshua J. Saluto, 30, has not been seen since August 2 when he was on foot in the 700 block of Winchester. He is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing khaki pants and a blue plaid shirt.

Sean Lewis

Sean D. Lewis, 37, was last seen August 9 at about 5:45 p.m. He was driving a green 2008 Volvo S40 four-door with Kansas license plate 188-CBE. He is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs about 185 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Police seek missing elderly woman

Kansas City Police are looking for 70-year-old Elaine M. Adcock, who was last seen at about 8 a.m. yesterday, July 22. Ms. Adcock was set to fly out of Kansas City to attend a family function and never arrived for that function. She has not been seen or heard from since, and her family is worried about her.

She is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds. She has gray hair and hazel eyes. She may be driving a yellow Volkswagen Beetle with Missouri license plate CD7-V7X. If you know where Elaine Adcock is, call the Missing Persons Section at 234-5136.

Police looking for man last seen a week ago

UPDATE - 11:15 a.m. July 21 - John Self has been located at a community shelter in good condition. Thanks for your help.


Kansas City Police are looking for 54-year-old John R. Self, who has been missing since last Wednesday, July 14. He was last seen at noon that day leaving North Kansas City Hospital. He was wearing a white- and gray-striped shirt, dark shorts and dark-rimmed glasses. Mr. Self is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds. He has strawberry-blonde hair and blue eyes.

Police seek teenager missing since July 9

Seventeen-year-old Paul D. Thurman has been missing for a week. He was last seen on foot near the 3300 block of 24th Street wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and blue Jordan shoes. He is a black male who is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. His family is worried about his safety.

Police seek man missing since May 13


Police are looking for 26-year-old Genaro I. Garcia-Uranga, who was last seen at about 11 a.m. on May 13, 2010, leaving 6218 E. 16th St. The car he left in was found June 1 at 110 N. White. His family is concerned for his safety.

Garcia-Ungara is an Hispanic male, 5 feet 7 inches tall weighing about 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. It's unknown what he was last wearing. If you know where he is, ask him to contact his family and call the Missing Persons Section at 816-234-5136.

Jerry R. Cooper Jr., 24, was last seen at 2323 E. 63rd St. running westbound down the street on June 1. He is bipolar and suicidal, and his loved ones are worried about him. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 145 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing an orange/red shirt, red New York Yankees baseball cap and jean shorts. Police trying to find missing woman with memory loss

UPDATE: Sylvia Bell returned home April 1.


Kansas City Police are looking for 48-year-old Sylvia Bell, missing since 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 30. Ms. Bell suffers from memory loss and intended to take a cab home yesterday. She instead gave the driver an address where she used to live, 1822 Spruce. No one has seen or heard from her since she got out of the cab there. Her family is worried about her.

Ms. Bell is black, 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 110 pounds. She may be disoriented. She was last seen wearing a purple shirt, dark jeans and purple and white striped socks. Police seek mentally ill man missing since Feb. 26

MARCH 3 UPDATE: Simon Montoya has been located at an area hospital.


Kansas City Police are looking for Simon J. Montoya, who has been missing since Friday. Montoya is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 166 pounds. He is a white male with brown hair and hazel eyes, and he may have shaved off his eyebrows. He was last seen leaving 107 N. Gladstone Blvd. on Feb. 26. At that time, he was wearing a black coat and jeans. Montoya is schizophrenic and off of his medication. His family is concerned for his safety. Police are looking for 37-year-old Tanya N. Mills, who was last seen at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 5550 Noland Road. Tanya is a black female who is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 128 pounds. Police don't have a clothing description. Tanya is believed to be schizophrenic, and her family is concerned for her safety. Police are looking for 18-year-old Teresa S. Brown, who was last seen at about 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 3018 Bellefontaine. Teresa is a black female who is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes and may be wearing a red jacket with a hood. She has diminished mental capacity and may be easily coerced. Her family is worried about her. Police are looking for 28-year-old Kellye D. Francis, who was last seen at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 10535 Jefferson. Ms. Francis is a black female who is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 142 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes and may be wearing a brown, collar-length wig with red streaks. She was last seen wearing a blue or gray sweatsuit and sneakers.
